Diatomaceous Earth can be used on the soil to treat fungus gnats. At the microscopic level, it works like shards of glass that will kill insects. It is non-toxic to people and pets, but it is best to wear masks when applying it.
Diatomaceous earth (DE) is mineralized fossil dust that is both natural and non-toxic to the environment. It is safe to use on indoor plants in your home.
How to use: Mix some into the top layer of infested soil to kill any gnat larvae (and adults) that come in contact with it. Do not use it outdoors where pollinators are present. Wear a dust mask when working with DE to avoid inhaling and wash your hands after using. If DE comes in contact with your eyes, rinse them immediately.
